Jocasta Mudge

Jocasta was born in Brighton and studied with Adrian Shepherd MBE. She later studied with Stefan Popov, graduating from the Guildhall School of Music in 2007. She has taken Masterclasses with Robert Cohen, Louise Hopkins, The Tackacs Quartet and the Vellinger Quartet. Since graduating Jocasta has enjoyed a wide and varied career as a freelance cellist. She has been in demand as a session musician working with artists including Muse, Madness and Michael Buble, live and on television programmes including Jools Holland, The Brit Awards, X Factor. She has performed recitals onboard Mediterranean Cruises, played for royalty, and toured and performed in stadiums and concert halls across Europe.

Jocasta has a love for chamber music, regularly playing in London and the South East with numerous quartets and groups. She currently leads the cello section of the Sussex Symphony Orchestra and runs a busy teaching practice from her home in Hove where she lives with her husband and three young sons.
