The Corelli Ensemble welcomes you to enjoy a feast of beautiful live classical music, from Baroque masterpieces, to unashamedly romantic Movie Themes.

A fabulous array of outstanding soloists, including guitarist Paul Gregory, cellist Sebastian Comberti, oboist Owen Dennis, young soprano, Catrin Woodruff and alto, Helen Stanley (definitely names to watch in the future) will be joining the Corelli Ensemble. One of the Corelli Ensemble’s past soloists, Nathaniel Anderson Frank, who was soloist from 2009-12, has recently been appointed leader of the BBC Concert Orchestra. Long standing audience members may have recognised him leading on television at the BBC Proms this summer.

Our theme this season is Music from the Movies, and will include glorious melodies such as Cavatina from the Deer Hunter, Gabriel’s Oboe from The Mission, Ladies in Lavender and some great classical pieces; Mahler’s Adagietto from Death in Venice, and Barber’s Adagio from Platoon.

We will also be performing timeless masterpieces, such as Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater, Bach’s Oboe and Violin Concerto, and Mozart’s Eine Kleine Nacht Musik, Talented Brighton based composer, Peter Davison, has written a piece called “No Time for Goodbyes”, which the Corelli Ensemble will be performing in January and February.

Corelli Ensemble concerts are perfect for all ages, lasting about an hour, and afterwards the audience is welcome to join the players for refreshments.

So come along and be inspired by the enjoyment of live music making with the Corelli Ensemble.This year the Corelli Ensemble will be raising money for Child Aid.
